- Flannel or muslin squares
- Reusable cotton rounds
- Biodegradable sponges
PLASTIC TOOTHBRUSHES
- bamboo with bamboo bristles,
- bamboo with charcoal bamboo bristles (watch for charcoal bristles as these may be nylon with added charcoal),
- wood with any type of the above bristles.
BODY WASH / SOAP IN PACKAGING
- Soap bars without wrapping
- Homemade soap (I've found some great ideas here: DYINatural, here: Wellness Mama and here: REBECCA'S SOAP DELICATESSEN)
- You can also buy my favourite (comes in recyclable paper wrapping and is very delicate):
- To make your own liquid soap (this a great way to utilise those leftover pieces of soap bars) you can follow this simple recipe: WikiHow: Make Liquid Soap
- For my daily routine though I use the oil cleansing method for evenings and pure honey for mornings. See more here.
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
- shampoo replaced with 1 tbsp of baking soda mixed well with one cup of water.
- hair conditioner (strongly advised after using the above): 1 tbsp apple vinegar mixed with 1 cup of water to use like normal conditioner (massage into scalp, leave for 2 minutes and rinse). Followed by a hair endings treatment for damaged or weak hair: just spread some jojoba oil or coconut oil on your fingertips and massage in.
I'll write about COSMETICS on a separate page soon.
